March also brought parent/teacher conferences. Now generally we love to go to these conferences, it is a bit of an ego boost to hear how wonderful our kids are doing, until about 4 years ago. This is when Bridger started school. Conferences for him turned out to bring some anxiety to begin with, but usually ended in a pretty good laugh. This time was no different, at least I thought it was funny. This is his persuasive essay, his teacher told us he only got an 18 out of 25, among other reasons, he didn't have much of a conclusive paragraph, really?!
I tried to scan it in and something went wrong, but the jist of it was:
Dear Mrs. Demester, (the principal)
My name is Bridger Barker, a student in your school. I think we should have a hot tub for the students.
1. It would help kids relax.
2. It would help kids think.
3. It would be a good chance for kids to hang out with friends.
4. It would help kids chill.
5. If you have any questions I am in Mrs. George's class.
Thanks,
Bridger Barker
Quite a compelling argument, don't you think?
