Will had his 8th grade promotional this last Friday, for those of you saying, What? I'm right there with ya. It was basically a graduation from Middle School. I will now take this opportunity to quickly brag on my boy. Will was one of 6 speakers, he did a great job, I guess we could title his speech "It's not the years in your life, it's the life in your years." He received the President's Award for Academic Excellence, one of 13, these kids had a GPA of 3.5 or higher and scored above 80% on some national test. He also received an Outstanding Citizenship Award, one of 15 students selected by teachers for their all around excellence at EMS. That night they had a Hawaiian themed dance until 11, and then after there was a 'party' at the Barker's. Randy counted 18 kids that did not belong to him. Crazy? Maybe, but we would rather have the kids at our home, knowing where they are, and thank heaven for good friends!
I don't know where the last 14 years have gone. We only have 4 & 1/2 short years before his mission. I only got emotional about 5 times on Friday. To quote Randy in his sarcastic way,
"He's a special boy!"
"He's a special boy!"
